Post Office Ltd is introducing a brand new Mobile Post Office service for 12 rural communities in Essex, Cambridgeshire and West Suffolk.

The new service will be provided by the operators of Finchingfield Post Office in North West Essex. This is due to start the week commencing 2 November.

The travelling Post Office is aboard a specifically designed vehicle. It is a tried and tested way to provide Post Office service to rural communities.

The Finchingfield Mobile Post Office service will restore Post Office services to the communities of Ashdon, Carver Barracks, Widdington, Great Sampford, Thurlow, Cavendish, Helions Bumpstead, Castle Camps, West Wickham and Weston Colville.

This will also restore Post Office services to the community of Kedington with the introduction of a temporary Mobile service whilst we continue to seek a permanent solution.

Additionally, we will introduce a new Mobile Service to the local community of Cornish Hall End.

The vehicle will visit at set times each week. On a Tuesday the communities of Ashdon, Carver Barracks, Widdington and Great Sampford will be visited. Please see the Notes to Editors section for the details of the stops and the times.

On a Wednesday Thurlow, Kedington, Cavendish and Cornish Hall End will be visited.

The communities of Helions Bumpstead, Castle Camps, West Wickham and Weston Colville will be visited on a Thursday.

The consultation will close on 5 November 2020. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 149114.

    Mobile post Office might help for the very elderly etc

    We have a 2 PO offices within 1 mile, after Mobile another one taken money from then.

    The Times on the heading of 1445-1445 are incorrect. Please could the heading times be changed to 1400 -1500.
