West Wickham and Streetly End

Residents who have ordered FTTP Superfast Upgrades are having their ISPs cancel installations or activations.

These all appear to be from the cabinet designated West Wratting 1 and frankly has become another nightmare. ISPs and contract engineers on site are reporting missing fibre segments and outstanding engineering work and residents are reporting missed activation dates or cancelled installations – same as we had with the West Wratting 7 cabinet. Some numbers listed as having FTTP available between 16 Feb and 7 March are now not showing up an FTTP option at all on https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/

BT-OpenReach are in the process of determining the outstanding engineering work necessary to complete the work, and will be seeking budgetary sign-off for this in April, so at this stage there is no guarantee you will receive FTTP if you have either already ordered it, or it is showing up on https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ as available. If you have an installation or activation date, please check with your ISP that this is still happening to avoid wasting your time, I believe they will be missed. Connecting Cambridgeshire and Lucy Frazer have been made aware are aware this typical and disgraceful partially completed engineering job by BT-OpenReach.

If you are affected by these delays and would like representation when these issues are discussed between Connecting Cambridgeshire, Lucy Frazer and BT-OpenReach, please email me your details.

Sincerely
— Alex Schuilenburg
